Lawsuit filed after officials eliminated coverage for gender affirming health care in North Carolina state employee plans
The court ruled the state has a compelling interest “in protecting the physical and psychological well-being of minors, including LGBTQ youth.
“The harm this law will cause will be insurmountable for too many Texans, particularly Black, Latino, Indigenous people & low income people."
The lawsuit calls on the court to declare the guidance invalid and unlawful and to prohibit the U.S. government from enforcing it

In the 2-1 ruling, the court said Colorado had a compelling interest in protecting the “dignity interests” of members of marginalized groups.
